Workington Hall
Although damaged by a serious fire by troops billeted during WWII, the house had been bequeathed to the council by Lady Chance for use as a town hall. They instead reduced 'one of the finest manor houses in the area' to a managed ruin in 1972 after incidences of vandalism.
